Photo Essay: A trip to Georgetown

Georgetown is a historic neighborhood, and commercial and entertainment district located in Northwest Washington, D.C., situated along the Potomac River.

People board a bus during rush hour in the middle of the town. It was about 40 degrees outside that day.

Around this time of the year, free outdoor light installations fill the streets with joy for the upcoming Holidays. The festival of lights is referred to as GLOW. Georgetown “Glow” is the region’s only free curated outdoor public light art experience.

This is Geffrey Love Jr, this is his first time coming to Georgetown. He’s a sophomore currently studying at Bowie State University.
This is his first time visiting the GLOW art installations Georgetown is displaying this year. In this photo, he’s admiring the large ring-like installation shown in the last photo.

Geffrey along with his best friend James admires the Christmas-colored decorative lights wrapped around the trees throughout this stroll through the town.

The two have been best friends for a while and decided a trip to Georgetown would be a  great way to destress before finals.

The two finish off their stroll swinging on one of the main installations in town. The “Glow” installation consisted of swings hanging from beautiful vibrant clouds glowing clouds as they enjoyed a cup of their own hot chocolate.

Geffrey Love is a bright individual who’s always looking for adventures. During the weekend he’s open to finding new places to experience and enjoy for himself. This photo essay displays the emotions Geffrey Love Jr felt while visiting a new area for the first time. The location is set in Georgetown. Along with Geffrey is his friend James. Georgetown is a historic neighborhood, and commercial and entertainment district located in Northwest Washington, D.C., situated along the Potomac River. In particular, the location Geffrey will be exploring is the Glow Cloud light display for the Holidays. The focus of this essay would be Geffrey’s emotions of being in Georgetown and enjoying the Glow display with his friend.
